The Trainees were required to attend a stage musical play at Zamboanga City Coliseum.
Last 2012, The Philippine Stagers Foundation was started to play the life of Rizal entitled “JOE” at the Zamboanga City Coliseum. Now, The PSF was back to perform another musical play entitled "Filipinas 1941" It is all about two brothers, Felipe and Nestor, who were diametric opposites in their personality. Felipe is simple-minded school dropout with lowly ambitions. Nestor has a brilliant mind, graduating valedictorian of their class with big dreams. The two brothers got separated when Japan occupied the Philippines during World War 2.

Philippine Stagers Foundation
Felipe's path led him to be a poor farmer, getting separated from his sweetheart Sophia (who just entered the nunnery when they parted) and becoming a member of the guerilla movement. On the other hand, Nestor married his girl Emilia and became a rich businessman in the shoe business, even supplying the footwear of the Japanese army.

The contrast between the brothers would be a nice centerpoint of the story. It also a good way to present the contrast in the society now and during the Japanese era. I'm a fan of stage plays especially if it's a play portraying our history or the past. This kind of entertainment is needed by every individual once in a while. This also is the kind of entertainment that should be well supported too and not watched just because it's a requirement from schools.

Overall, "Filipinas 1941" may not be as complex as "Joe" or "Bonifacio" before it. However, it was nevertheless able to fulfill its aims to entertain and to educate its young audiences. For some, the choreography of the song numbers may come across as crude and the attempts at comedy may come across as corny, but the writer-director at the same time an Attorney by profession Vincent Tañada was really awesome artist and overwhelming objective to promote the theater play as one of the goals in learning.

The play was entitled as FILIPINAS 1941 and performed by Philippine Stagers Foundation directed and edited by: Atty. Vincent Tañada.

with the main cast of the musical play
On the above picture, I was able to took the opportunity to be with one of the main character of "JOE" and FILIPINAS 1941, his name is Nestor on the play, but his real name is Patrick. I am glad that I've witness this kind of Musical Play.

Lastly, the students of STI College Zamboanga were excited to this event that annually STI celebrated , namely, 5th STI STAR AWARDS, wherein STIers are given a award for their academic and extra-curricular exemplary.

During the Awarding ceremony, the 4th Year CSIT Students are aiming for the TERABYTES CLASS or the Overall Champion, but Unfortunately, The VERSION 42.1 or the CSIT - 421, was the OVERALL CHAMPION of the 1st ever COMPUTING FEST. We didn't expect that our section will be awarded as the TERABYTE CLASS but we desired to hit that awards to make our adviser Mrs. Mary Gaile B. Luis proud of us.

The Computing Fest 2014 was the best I guess event for our department the COMPUTING DEPARTMENT. KUDOS TO THE VERSION 42.1 BATCH 2014 - 2015.
