Have you taken that one step today?

Last week Sir Al told me that. Magprepare ka ng speech, And I was just like “Huh? Speech Saan?. Then sir Al replied Para sa Pinning as the Batch President, Pang words of encouragement, And I was just like Ha? Bakit ako? Words of Encouragement? Batch President? Madaming tanong napasok sa utak ko. Im not that kind of person na magbibigay ng Speech sa Pinning natin, but napaisip ako. Maybe Sir Al was right. It’s almost 4 years that I’m serving the events or activities of our Computing Department and most especially to my Alma Mater. So then I’m here in front of you to give some words of encouragement to all of you guys as your batch president.

When I first entered this institution, I told myself that it would be a challenge for me especially that I am young enough to face the real situation of college life. College life as perceived by students, is situated in a level of which difficulty and pressure combined to test one’s capacity.

Struggles, hardships, thesis, projects, assignments and a lot of problems are encountered by most of us but we should bear in mind that just like in Mathematics, the exact solution of answering the x and y can be achieved through series of attempts. Same with our problems, if we put efforts coupled with hardships and determination, then, it will resulted to everybody’s goal which is SUCCESS. YES SUCCESS, I’m not saying that I am already a successful person, but I’m trying to say that with this kind of people I have now My Classmates, The IT-411 TEAM, My Friends and Colleagues, Our instructors and advisers, Our Family, Our very supportive School Administrator and this Institution STI. This is Success!
Sabi nga dun sa isang commercial ng STI. “Trust STI to give you the self confidence through real life education that nurtures a well rounded you from enrolment to employment. Be job ready, Be STI.” Waw! It was like woahaaaoooo… STI’s really give us this. That’s why we have this practicum pinning, with the Theme: Be Job Ready, Be STI, It is because we are ready to face the Real life with self confidence. Tama? Are we all ready? A BIG YES!

Everybody desires for good life. It comes from a different levels wherein one person may define it as one way and another. For one person a good life may be just having three meals a day and a roof over their head. For another it may be having a huge mansion and a couple of million dollars in the bank.

But whatever is your definition of it, there is perhaps one thing that you may have in common with many other people. It’s the will and a drive to become successful in our respective crafts.

You might want a good life that can be stress free. You would like to have it without having to work so hard or struggle so much for it. Well, That is a normal human expectation. Nobody likes to struggle through life. But as what I have said, success is a result of not just sweat but blood indeed.

No matter what situation you are in, you always have a choice. No matter how bad things are set to happen, you have a choice. No matter what you think you can or cannot do, you have a choice.  Because you have the right to choose life according to your own will.

Before we proceed to the next level of our tasks and in lives, we must thank God for all the blessings he had showered upon us.  He strengthened our faith and love for the sake of other people. So that’s why I keep on joining community service activities attends national conventions and many more.

We must give so much gratitude to our parents who always providing us not just only our needs but also our wants in life. They deserved a Ahoo Clap! Also, we must give recognition to our advisers and teachers for molding us to be manually equipped with proper knowledge and to be competent in facing the real battle of life. Ahoo Clap! To our friends through thick and thin, for understanding and helping us in all our problems. For being always there to hear our queries and ready to lend their shoulders if time and things disappoint us. Ahoo clap for our friends. Sabi ko nga dun sa mga kaibigan na ko famewhores sa ibang school, You don’t need strive to become famous, You just need to have many TRUE FRIENDS to make you famous. Famous in a way that success is always there for you because of them.

Last night I received a Text message from a friend from Iloilo City. Di ko sya nakilala sa Facebook ahh, Nakilala ko sya sa Bacolod City last October 2012, during the District Rotaract Assembly. The text message goes like this and I quoted “As what Napoleon Hill says that, (Do you know who is Napoleon Hill?, He is an American author, He is one of the earliest producers of the modern genre of personal-success literature.) He says that “Like the wind that carries one ship east and another west, the law of autosuggestion will lift you up or pull you down according to the way that you set your sails of thought.”
Hmm..

If you want to live a life according to your will, it is you who will do the efforts to make it more significant to you. Its just that, Nasa sayo na kung pano mo mapapaganda ang buhay mo, if you will be tracing the right track or the other way around.

Just like in life, if we want to achieve success in a manner of enjoying it, we must persevere enough and always be positive.
Hardships and struggles are both normal, but with each small step and focus on the desired destination, it will be conquered.
Sabi nga ng Chinese philosopher na si Lao-tzu: “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”
YES! It takes only one small step to succeed.
And for that, I will ask you all who are listening here, have you taken that one step today?

That’s All. Thank you! I lead, I am STI!
